New STORM 1000c and 80c LED Lights from Aputure Offer Advanced Color Accuracy With Expanded Spectrum

The STORM 80c and 1000c are two new color-tunable point source COB LED fixtures designed for professional lighting applications. These lights feature the BLAIR-CG light engine, which includes a wider color spectrum and improved accuracy, covering more than 90% of the Rec2020 color gamut. With versatile connectivity options and durable, weather-resistant construction, both fixtures are set to meet the demands of high-end production environments.

Two months after announcing their groundbreaking STORM 1200x COB LED light with the BLAIR engine, Aputure has expanded its STORM family with the introduction of two new full-color, tunable point source COB LED fixtures—the STORM 80c and STORM 1000c. These cutting-edge lights are powered by the new BLAIR-CG engine, which incorporates a combination of Blue, Lime, Amber, Indigo, Red, Cyan, and Green LEDs. This advanced chipset delivers an extended color gamut, covering over 90% of the Rec2020 color space, providing users with unprecedented color accuracy and flexibility.

Both the STORM 80c and STORM 1000c offer an impressive CCT range from 1800 to 20 000 K, with full +/- ASC MITC green adjustment range. This wide color temperature spectrum, combined with high-quality color mixing, allows for greater control over lighting environments, ensuring the lights can be tailored to match various production needs. Whether for film, TV, or photography, the new STORM lights are designed to provide the most accurate and dynamic color output available in the industry.

The STORM 80c and 1000c both feature Aputure’s new full-color light engine, which uses blue, lime, amber, indigo, red, cyan, and green emitters, expanding the color spectrum beyond traditional RGB LED options. As a result, both lights offer an impressive coverage of over 90% of the Rec2020 color gamut, providing superior color fidelity that ensures what you see is what the camera captures. The calibrated indigo emitter also activates the natural fluorescence of materials, making white fabrics appear whiter and colours more vibrant, delivering a more natural and lifelike look.
