In recent years, Profoto’s B-series has been every professional’s go-to choice for battery-powered flashes used on location. However, the lineup was due for a much needed upgrade. Following the recent release of the D30 studio flash, the brand is expanding its outdoor flash range—the Pro-B3 adds more power and features to the lineup, making it better suited for outdoor and extreme conditions. As a replacement for the B1X, it offers significantly higher output along with faster recycling times and shorter flash durations.
Compared to the B1X, the Pro-B3 increases flash power from 500 to 750 Ws and LED output from 24 to 56 W. However, this comes with reduced flashes per charge due to higher power consumption, with the Pro-B3 delivering up to 250 full-power flashes per battery. Designed to endure harsh conditions, it features a rugged, grip-friendly exterior and user-replaceable quartz flash tubes, ensuring years of reliable use.
